My art is psychological archeology. Immersing myself in a personal experience from the past, allow me to connect and unlock my subconscious thoughts. Embodying these emotional occurrences, I become liberated from self-censorship. Through the process of free writing, I am able to release repressed memories and explore my own subconscious thoughts, feeling, and behaviors that exist in my mind. I attempt to invite the viewer back to earlier psychological strata in processes of decomposition and movement. Explore the process of creating and releasing ones affectively charged, abstract concepts before the splitting of word, meaning, and affect. The movement of forms becoming dialogue is constructed through a habitually active process of repeating gestures, mentally processing and physically regurgitating the decomposition of emotion. Words give tangible, limited, and discrete meaning to abstract ideas. I intend to reverse the process, giving the abstract idea back to the word. Clarity is unimportant.
Saturday June 23rd, at 7pm Cass Cafe held an opening reception for their summer show, "new EXPRESSIONS".
The show runs through September 22nd, so you have plenty of time to head downtown to check it out. As an artist, I am always interested in hearing what my viewers think or feel about my work. Please take your time and let me know your honost opinion. Also, check out my personal websit which might help you understand my work and take it to the next level.
As I was looking online at the art reviews I found one naming my show. It only states the artists names, its still recognition. I put it as my first uberlink.
i get inspired from life and all the experiences, i start thinking about a time or incident and start writing or painting about it. all the emotions and feelings that are connected to that time come pouring out of me.
Well hello Steff. I see you found uber. The interface is a little quirky but you will get the hang of it. Good to see you here, I think it will be better than myspace for your Awesome work that you do.
